They can also be used for outdoor as well as indoor loudspeaker announcements in harsh environments, e.g. in factories of heavy industry.  Light barriers (optoelectronic coupler) are activated contactless by pressing the robust double toggle keys. This allows durable using in abrasive and damp environments.  The call stations are intended for wall mounting.
